After working for more than 12 hours in a day and not getting to relax with a nice cold beer us offshore workers deserve to have a little fun, even if it might be a someone else’s expense (within reason). Some industries have spirit level bubbles, tartan paint and sky hooks but the offshore industry is different; sure we all know about the mythical key to the vee door but there are others that are much better and much more entertaining.
Anyone working in wireline will tell you; put one hand up for one rotation, 2 hands up for 2 rotations and put your leg out for 5 rotations of the bottom sheave. This prank is a bit overdone but there’s a reason for that, you can see some brilliant videos on YouTube of some wireline trainees.
